There might be situations where customers wants to use only one core of a multi (dual/quad) core processor because of application restrictions.
Details
This can be achieved in Microsoft Windows by editing the boot.ini file and disabling one core as follows:

Right click on „My Computer“, then select -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup & Recovery.

Click on „Edit“

At the end of the line add the following code: /numproc=1
NOTE: This will enable only the logical processor 1 in Microsort Windows
- Save the boot.ini file and reboot
